The Response of Love

Even after Jesus appeared to Peter and proved his Lordship over death, Peter was still feeling discouraged about denying the Lord. He went back to his previous profession of fishing. One day the Lord met him with love, compassion, and grace as he renewed Peter’s calling, revived Peter’s love, and commissioned him with a divine purpose. There may be times in our spiritual journey where we feel like we’ve failed the Lord and are no longer worthy of his love, acceptance, and calling. Yet the Lord affirms us as his precious child, loved eternally, called specifically, and ordained to fulfill his will. Regardless of how far you have fallen, he is ready to renew you as you respond to his call as Peter did.
